Speech production in adolescent with Down Syndrome
Collaborator: Dr. Micalle Carl
This project investigates speech intelligibility in English-speaking adolescents with Down Syndrome (DS). We are especially intersted in their production of diphthongs and English rhotic.
Our aim is to uncover the relationships among acoustic, articulatory, and perceptual domains of speech using ultrasound imaging. We hope to better understand speech characteristics of speakers with DS and inform more effective intervention approaches.
